Saving Face

We all know the damage the sun can do to our skin. Lately I've been on the hunt for a good SPF that I can wear under makeup that doesn't feel heavy, tacky or oily but still gets the job done. I threw this into my Mecca online cart only about a week ago and I'm loving it so far.

The product itself is the Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 30. It retails for $38 for 100mL which might be a teensy bit pricey, but after all this is my skin's future we're talking about here. The texture is simple, it's a lightweight and super moisturising cream. The finish is matte on the skin which is great if you're not about that entirely dewy finish, although you still can achieve that depending on your base makeup. What I love most is that it doesn't leave you looking hella white and it absorbs super quickly so I don't have to stand around fanning my face before I can put on make up.  Speaking of makeup, it even makes the application silky smooth, in a similar way to that of a primer.

It also comes in a 15mL tube which is ideal for travelling and also great if you want to test the product out to see if it's for you before making the splurge on the bigger tube. Mecca also carry a Superscreen SPF 50 version of the product.

We all need to protect our skin from premature ageing and the myriad of issues that harsh UV rays can bring to our skin, so I challenge all of you to find your ideal SPF. Your skin will thank you in the long run.

Cait xx

  1. I love that you can use it almost as a primer! I'm all for using SPF no matter what the weather is! It's pricey but seems worth it :) x

  2. I hardly wear sunscreens because I just dislike the texture SO much and they always leave my skin super oily and gross. But after reading your review, I'm sold! Good they have a travelling size too! Will definitely be picking this up! Thanks x
