Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil - Worth The Hype?

In typical me fashion, I was late to the party on this one.  With the amount of hype surrounding this product just about everyone and their dog has tried this, but seeing as how slack I am when it comes to brows it is no surprise I was until last week an Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil virgin.  Normally I slap a bit of powder (Urban Decay's Buck is the shadow of choice) through my eyebrows and leave them looking shabby and simply not their best. Walking past Mecca Cosmetica recently I bit the bullet and purchased the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette. As I'm typically lazy with my eyebrows, I was looking for something that was quick and easy, yet guaranteed me fiercer, tidier, and all round improved eyebrows. Did this product disappoint? I think not.

Eyebrows have never been my strong point. Back in my younger years I used to overpluck them, I never filled them in and they're now only starting to look fuller now. I've been trying to go for a much more natural yet still semi defined brow of late and this pencil gives that. With a combination of wax and powder in the convenience of a pencil, it has never been so easy to create gorgeous brows. The wax like quality to it ensures that the brows you create in the AM stay well into the PM, therefore eradicating the need for a brow gel.

With quite a wide nib, this pencil is ideal for people who are after fuller, more natural brows. If you're looking for a product which gives you a little more control I'd go for the Anastasia Brow Wiz, which has a nib so small that allows you to draw in individual hairs. The Hourglass nib is quite flat though, which I like as you're able to turn it sidewards and really create a precise tail. With the formula of the product, it isn't easy to overapply which is something I love. You really don't need much of it to create gorgeous brows. On the end of the pencil is one of the best spoolies I've ever used.

So I've told you the pros. The cons? There's no need for the plural form there, as I can only find one negative with this product. The price. Holy mother this thing aint cheap for what it is. As I said I picked mine up from Mecca in Melbourne for the hefty price of $44. As impressed as I am with my brows these days, I'll wait it out to see just how long this product lasts as I'm a little reluctant to repurchase unless I can get at least a few months use out of it.
